Upon tv-commercials, Mr. David Hathaway is going to have a 3-day visit to Tbilisi and give lectures at Tbilisi Sport Palace.
The publicity is misinformed about Mr. Hathaway’s preaches any connection to Orthodoxy.
As a matter of fact, Mr. David Hathaway represents one of the Christian denominations – the Evangelist. The society was established about two centuries ago. It is totally unacceptable for Orthodoxy as well as centuries-old traditions of Christianity.
Georgia has always been a tolerant land, where all religious enjoy freedom of belief, speech, temples. But, the scheduled event is clear attempt of proselytism to persuade wider group of people change their faith. Proselytism is denounced by International Inter-religion Conventions and Christian ethics.
It is absolutely unacceptable and abusive to hold such public lecture denying Orthodoxy in the country, Georgia, which has 20-century old history of Orthodox Christianity.
We address to our publicity, our parish, to avoid attendance of such religious meetings.
